RAISING AWARENESS of Activity Based Restorative Training for Spinal Cord Injury Patients
Help SCI Survivors Get Back On Their Feet
SAVE A YOUNG LIFE FOUNDATION (SYLF) partners with Touchdown Dance 2 Walk Campaign in an effort to help individuals affected by catastrophic Spinal Cord Injury.
The SYLF Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Fund is a restricted fund established under the auspices of Save a Young Life Foundation in accordance with the IRS regulations. Funds raised under the Touchdown Dance 2 Walk fundraiser Campaign are deposited into a special fund designated specifically for Activity-based therapies (ABTs) also referred to as activity-based restorative therapy (ABRT) which includes any exercise therapy activity, rehabilitation, or intervention for Spinal Cord Injury survivors.
These therapies are focused on improving muscle function and sensory perception for the paralysis and sensory loss due to spinal cord injury (SCI), and to improve overall function after Spinal Cord Injury (SCI).
Rehabilitation and exercise are key to enhancing a person’s health and quality of life. With ABTs, the goal is that Spinal Cord injury patients can first regain feeling and over time, movement in the areas affected by the injury.
SYLF serves as an administrator for the fund, to assure contributors that the money raised will be used for its intended purpose: that is, to assist with ABT’s or ABRT, which is currently not covered by private insurance companies or Medicaid.
These funds will assist Spinal Cord Injury survivors who qualify for the grants, live and thrive, restoring independence and quality of life.
All financial records for the management and administration of this (SCI) fund are maintained by Save a Young Life Foundation.
Save a Young Life Foundation’s goal is to support individuals, families and organizations through some of life’s darkest hours and bond communities together in an effort to bring hope and joy to those who need it the most. SYLF is dedicated to supporting programs which are geared to benefit children, and local communities. We support programs that promote youth, as well as organizations that are dedicated to working together for the common good of our community’s health and well-being.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Save A Young Life Foundation assures fiscal accountability of funds raised and tax deductibility for donors. All monetary contributions or gifts in kind are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
